We are National Academy of Music, located on Eglinton Ave, near Hurontario St.

We are currently offering part-time weekend piano teacher jobs during the afternoons. Your choice of either Sundays, Saturdays. Jobs also available any weekday evening.

Piano Teaching Jobs, Part-time at National Academy of Music

Piano teaching jobs at our music school involves teaching a wide age group. Age ranges of children as young as 4 years old, up to adults. However, most of our students are ages 8 to 12 years old.

Students are mostly beginners, hence just starting out. A smaller portion of our students are intermediate/advanced. Our piano teachers  teach their lessons on our acoustic upright piano’s. Piano brands such as Baldwin, Kawai, Story & Clark, and finally, most noteworthy, Yamaha.

We offer free parking, therefore you save parking fees.  If you commute via public transit, we have a bus stop at our school doorstep. As a result, your commute will be less stressful, and more convenient. 

You must possess a minimum grade 8 RCM piano certificate, (or University/College equivalent). Piano teacher vacancy, now open. We would be happy to answer any of your questions.

Responsibilities are to: Start and end lessons on time, maintaining a good attendance record, teach half-hour one-to-one lessons to students. Also liaising with staff and parents, ensuring knowledge of current examination requirements, determining student goals and objectives, and following our policies and procedures, regarding student safety.

Job Duties: guiding your students towards correct technique and teaching students how to read musical notation, as well as prepping students for a music recital performance, guidance through progressively graded music method books with the goal of graded RCM examinations, teaching lessons in relation to individual pupils’ needs, and motivating students, especially when they are struggling and progress is slow.

Requirements – Specific skills needed: 

-Ability to read music notation

-Good communication skills

-Ability to connect with a wide range of students of different ages and backgrounds
